COP15 and the Cap & Trade "solution"

With one day remaining at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15), here is a video presented by Annie Leonard, which explains the Cap & Trade System, the actors involved and the stakes for our planet.

Here in Canada, the Federal government announced that it will cut carbon emissions by a measly 20% below 2006 levels by 2020 (this is equivalent to just 3% below 1990 levels by 2020). Our three most populous provinces (Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia), however, disagree with this Federal goal and have each declared more ambitious targets. Ontario asserted a 15% reduction target below its 1990 levels, Quebec affirmed a 20% reduction target and British Columbia confirmed a 14% reduction target (Toronto Star article).

Will the leaders at COP15 reach an effective global agreement on climate change? What has your country pledged to do? Will it be enough? Post your comments below and join the discussion!
