As part of Global Ignite Week (March 1-5, 2010), Challenge Your World will be part of an evening of networking, information, and fun, encapsulated in the Ignite motto: "Enlighten us, but make it quick." In the tradition of Pecha Kucha Nights, it's a rapid-fire, high-energy series of talks by people who have an idea—and the guts to get onstage and share it with the audience. Support for Haïti

Following the disastrous earthquake that struck on Tuesday, millions of people in Haïti are trying to recover from the tremendous shock and damage. The situation in Haïti is especially critical, because the earthquake hit the capital, Port-au-Prince, crippling government institutions and local aid agencies. On Wednesday, members of the Challenge Your World team took part in the Ski4CARE fundraiser. The event, which was organized by our partner CARE Canada, raised $39,000 for Haïtian families and orphans. NFB: GDP Partnership

The National Film Board has been telling stories that reflect Canada back to Canadians for seven decades now. With "GDP - Measuring the human side of the Canadian economic crisis", the NFB is running the country’s first bilingual web documentary, a pan-Canadian project that bears witness to the far-reaching effects of the crisis in our lives and communities. COP15 and the Cap & Trade "solution"

With one day remaining at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15), here is a video presented by Annie Leonard, which explains the Cap & Trade System, the actors involved and the stakes for our planet. Here in Canada, the Federal government announced that it will cut carbon emissions by a measly 20% below 2006 levels by 2020 (this is equivalent to just 3% below 1990 levels by 2020). Our three most populous provinces (Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia), however, disagree with this Federal goal and have each declared more ambitious targets.
